Routledge No School Left Behind: China's Mathematics Curriculum Reform 2000-2020

This scholarly monograph examines the implementation of China's New Mathematics Curriculum Reform from 2000 to 2020 through detailed fieldwork at two elementary schools, Merits School and Pioneer School, in northeastern China. The study traces how local schools enacted reform policies and adapted existing quality control mechanisms, particularly teaching norms, to operationalize new curriculum ideas. Through measurable supervision and evaluation frameworks aligned with reform objectives, these schools demonstrated practical approaches to integrating curriculum changes whilst maintaining educational standards.
