Description

Experience the definitive Miles Davis reissue released for his centennial. This collection captures the historic holiday residency at Chicago's Plugged Nickel Cafe, marking the moment the Second Great Quintet established its unique sound. Featuring Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams, these recordings represent a masterclass in musical invention and risk. Producer Teo Macero captured every note across seven sets recorded on December 22 and 23, 1965. While portions of these sessions were released in previous decades, this Columbia/Legacy edition provides the full scope of the performances. This is an essential addition for fans of jazz and bebop looking for the complete historical record of these legendary live sets.
