Description

Built for the extreme downtuning demands of progressive metal and drop-A tuning, the Jim Root signature string set from Jim Dunlop delivers the tonal clarity and tuning stability required for aggressive playing styles. Jim Root collaborated directly with Dunlop's String Lab to handpick each gauge and core size, creating a set optimised for blast-beat driven grooves and complex melodies from deeply downtuned guitars. With gauges 12-16-20pl-38-48-64, these strings maintain exceptional high-end clarity across extended playing sessions whilst resisting the pitch instability that often plagues heavy downtuned rigs. The consistent feel and responsive action make them comfortable for both intense picking techniques and precise articulation. Manufactured in the USA, these strings provide the durability and performance that professional metal musicians demand when pushing their instruments to the limit.
