The Dormer EX016H HSS-E-PM machine tap is engineered for high-performance metric threading in demanding industrial environments. Built with a premium powder metal substrate, this DIN 376 form C tap offers superior edge strength and abrasion resistance. The 45-degree spiral flute design is specifically optimized for threading blind holes up to 2.5xD in materials such as stainless steel, cast iron, and steel with hardness up to 1200 N/mm2. Designed primarily for use on CNC machines, the special flute geometry prevents swarf nest formation to reduce the risk of re-cutting debris during reversal. A steam tempered finish further enhances durability by reducing wear and preventing built-up-edge when working with harder ferrous materials.
