Description
Experience a monumental achievement in world cinema with the Trilogy of Life from The Criterion Collection. This DVD collection brings together three masterpieces from the legendary Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. Based on premodern world literature, these films offer a bold look at human nature through the lens of Giovanni Boccaccio's The Decameron, Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, and The Thousand and One Nights. Pasolini uses these stories to create a brazen and bawdy triptych that challenges consumer capitalism. By celebrating the uncorrupted human body, the director provides a unique perspective on historical storytelling. This US import is a must-have for collectors of classic international cinema and fans of Pasolini's provocative filmmaking style. Each film in this set serves as a testament to the director's ability to transform literary classics into visually extravagant cinematic experiences.
