Description

Experience a landmark moment in jazz history with Chick Corea: Piano Improvisations, Vol. 1 on vinyl. Recorded at Oslo's Bendiksen Studio in April 1971, this session represents a genre-changing experiment that helped initiate the solo piano idiom at ECM. This beautifully recorded collection captures Corea in a moment of pure musical discovery, where pieces were often pulled directly from the aether. As a classic of the genre, this album offers a glimpse into the evolution of Corea's style. The track "Sometime Ago" provides a foretaste of the melodic and Latin-tinged sounds he would later bring to the first Return To Forever band. This release remains an influential piece of musical documentation for any serious jazz collection.
