Description

Experience a long-awaited piece of jazz history with The Copenhagen Session Vol. 1 on vinyl from April Records. For years, rumors circulated about a lost recording session involving the legendary Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko and a talented group of Scandinavian and Polish musicians. These recordings, originating from a session at Vallekilde Hojskole in Denmark, are finally being released nearly a decade after they were recorded. This project took place during JazzDanmark's annual Summer Session, a prestigious program that has hosted musical luminaries such as Bill Frisell and Anat Cohen. Following the passing of Stanko seven years ago, this release brings his collaborative spirit to life through these rare, rediscovered tracks. This vinyl edition offers a way to hear the connection between Polish and Scandinavian jazz traditions in a high-quality format.
