Description

Experience the long-awaited release of The Copenhagen Session Vol. 1 by April Records. For years, rumors circulated within the jazz scenes of Denmark and Poland regarding a lost recording session featuring the legendary Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko. This collection finally brings those recordings to light, nearly a decade after the session took place and seven years after Stanko's passing. The project began at Vallekilde Hojskole in Denmark during JazzDanmark's annual Summer Session, a prestigious program that has hosted musical luminaries like Bill Frisell and Anat Cohen. This release captures a unique musical moment where the Scandinavian Art Ensemble and Tomasz Stanko combine Slavic melancholy with exploratory soundscapes.
