Product Description Ron Dos Mares Medusa de Cristal XO is a refined Panamanian rum that combines tropical aging with an indulgent Pedro Ximenez sherry cask finish. Distilled at Varela Hermanos from molasses using a multi-column still, this rum has aged for a minimum of 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The result is a true expression of craftsmanship, depth, and elegance. The name pays tribute to Medusa de Cristal – the glowing crystal jellyfish that illuminates the ocean depths with its beauty. Like its namesake, this rum captures elegance and luminosity. Mahogany in colour, the nose is delicate and rich with notes of vanilla, chocolate, sweet winey character, and toasted nuts. On the palate, expect sweetness with notes of dates, plums, and sun-dried raisins. The finish is warm and sweet with notes of Pedro Ximenez casks – still a light rum with great balance and complexity. Recognised at the European R(h)um Awards 2025 with Gold and Silver medals.
