Description
Key Features
The PJ pickups provide the powerful and assertive sounds essential for rock, punk, funk and much more. In search of that versatility, Duff used his first gage as a musician to purchase a Fender Jazz Bass Special that was equipped with a precision split coil pickup at the neck and a jazz bass pickup on the bridge. He then replaced the original single-coil bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack Jazz Bass, eliminating any hum and increasing performance.
A few years later, Duff received as a gift a bass with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound P-bass on the neck. The large-sized Alnico 5 magnets and the high output of the pickup gave its sound a new dimension. He then began pairing this pickup with the Hot Stack Jazz Bass on the bridge, creating a powerful combination rich in timbre, bass and attack.
This duo quickly became the sonic trademark of Duff, which has since been used on numerous recordings and worldwide tours. This combination is ideal for anyone looking for aggressive bass sound without interference, perfect both on stage and in the studio.
A hot stack jazz bass in bridge position combined with a quarter pound precision in neck position. Noise cancelling
