Key Features
SPRING FLOWERING TULIP BULBS Tulips are classic Spring bulbs that produce bold, cupshaped flowers in a wide range of vibrant colours including red, yellow, pink, purple, white and bicolour blends. Flowering from March to May, tulips add a striking splash of colour to beds, borders, and containers. These hardy perennials are ideal for UK gardens and are loved for their strong stems, elegant form, and longlasting blooms.
HOW TO PLANT TULIPS Plant tulip bulbs in Autumn, in a spot with well draining soil and full sun from October to December, before the ground freezes. Space bulbs approximately 10 cm apart and plant them at a depth of two to three times the height of the bulb. Water after planting, add compost or mulch to help improve drainage and boost growth. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering to feed the bulb for the following year.
PLANTING POSITION Tulips are perfect for planting in flower beds, garden borders, and patio containers. Their upright form and showy blooms are ideal for formal planting schemes or mixed garden styles. For maximum impact, plant in groups or drifts of one colour or blend different varieties for a multitonal display. Tulips also make excellent cut flowers, allowing you to bring their vibrant beauty indoors.
EASY TO STORE If you are not ready to plant the bulbs now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant. Just make sure mice or other rodents can’t get access to them. Keep an eye on your bulbs while in storage, if they are showing signs of going soft, it's best to get them planted before they deteriorate any further.
