Description

This research is a case study of the application of Agile in the flood warning development project. The aims of this research are to understand whether the reason for the failure of a software development project that had adopted an Agile approach was because the process was Iterative Evolutionary Development (IED) rather than Iterative Incremental Development (IID). This research used a structured observation (work-log file) and analysed it statistically. The main data was a CSV of the flood warning development project. The data was uploaded to the DBMS and the traditional SQL technique was applied. The results showed that there was no statistical trend found between the time axis and human resources from the work log data. So, this research investigated the literature review of the background history of Agile method and the difference between IED and IID. And this research also investigated the recent trend against blindly adopting Agile method. This research can be a useful source for identifying the reason for failure and finding alternatives for similar development projects.
