TECHNICAL MECHANICS SOLVED EXERCISES AREA – STATICAL MOMENT OF AREA – CENTROID

This first edition of Technical Mechanics Solved Exercises, VOLUME I, presents area property analyses of plane figures to define area, static area momentum, and geometric center location. The areas were idealized by equations of the first and second degree, exponential, modular and trigonometric. The calculations, in turn, are presented by double defined integrals, with a limit of sums, using the fundamental theorem of calculus, techniques of integration by parts and the method of substitution. These exercises have been carefully selected, with an increasing degree of difficulty, where integration methods are promoted step by step to facilitate understanding and learning; providing the reader with a deep understanding of the mathematical method associated with the physical concept. Observing the buildings of the present day, it is evident that students in technological areas need to advance in the practical application of exercises with more complex and sophisticated mathematical foundations. After all, the use of computation, even applied to these types of exercises, will be so much more efficient the greater the sedimented concept of theoretical knowledge. As for the educational aspect, the practice of these exercises broadens the spatial, cognitive and logical vision, stimulating the reader's self-taught instruction - a minimal transformation that educational institutions should promote to their participants: Make them autodidact! - .
