GLOBAL ERGONOMICS INDEX FOR UNIONIZED INDUSTRIES™: Operational Standard Operating System (SOP Manual)

Across the world’s most essential industries, the stability of labor systems is under increasing pressure. Transportation networks, construction operations, healthcare systems, logistics infrastructure, and emergency services all depend on workers operating in physically and cognitively demanding environments. At the same time, technological transformation, environmental pressures, and workforce demographic changes are reshaping the nature of work. Traditional safety frameworks are no longer sufficient to manage these challenges. What is needed is a system capable of measuring workforce sustainability itself. The Global Ergonomics Index for Unionized Industries™ (GEI-UI™) was created to meet that need. Developed by Joseph Or Yosef Inc., the GEI-UI™ system introduces a new discipline known as ergonomic intelligence, combining workforce analytics, governance frameworks, and institutional oversight mechanisms to evaluate the sustainability of labor environments. The Index functions as a global benchmark for workforce sustainability, enabling organizations to assess labor conditions across multiple dimensions including physical strain, cognitive workload, environmental exposure, and organizational design. Through structured methodologies and governance tools, the GEI-UI™ framework provides institutions with the ability to identify risks that traditional safety metrics often overlook. The system evaluates labor environments through a multidimensional scoring architecture that includes: • physical ergonomics and injury risk • cognitive and leadership ergonomics • organizational workflow sustainability • human-AI workforce integration • environmental and extreme-condition exposure • workforce fatigue and recovery cycles • ethical governance of labor systems Together, these dimensions produce a Global Ergonomics Score that reflects the long-term sustainability of a workforce environment. Why Workforce Sustainability Matters Now Industries across the world face growing challenges related to workforce stability. These challenges include: • aging labor populations • increasing fatigue exposure in critical infrastructure sectors • technological complexity introduced by automation • environmental risks affecting workers Without structured governance frameworks, these pressures can lead to operational instability and worker harm. The GEI-UI™ framework equips institutions with the tools necessary to manage these risks responsibly. As labor systems evolve, the ability to measure and govern workforce sustainability will become increasingly important. The Global Ergonomics Index for Unionized Industries™ represents one of the first attempts to build a comprehensive framework for this purpose. By combining ergonomic science, institutional governance, and workforce analytics, the GEI-UI™ system establishes a new foundation for understanding how labor systems function and how they can be improved. The stability of modern societies depends on the workers who operate transportation networks, maintain infrastructure, deliver essential services, and sustain industrial production. Protecting those workers requires more than compliance programs. It requires intelligence systems capable of measuring the sustainability of labor itself. The Global Ergonomics Index for Unionized Industries™ offers one such system. For leaders responsible for the future of labor systems, this framework provides a powerful starting point.
