The SIP 10" Planer Thicknesser combines surface planing, edge jointing and thicknessing in one bench-mounted woodworking machine, built for wider stock than SIP's 8" model, suited to professional workshops, joiners, carpenters and serious DIY use. A 1.5kW motor drives the cutter block at 9000rpm with a 6.4m/min feed speed for fast, consistent material removal. With a 252mm planer width, 2.5mm planing depth and a 5-120mm thicknessing capacity, the machine handles wider boards, planks and structural timber. Passing a board's widest face over the planer, then its narrow edge against the fence, squares up rough sawn timber ready for thicknessing, working as both a jointer and a thickness planer. An adjustable 90 to 135 degree fence supports square and chamfered planing, while machine-surfaced cast aluminium tables and power-fed rollers keep material moving smoothly for a consistent finish across hardwood and softwood. For safe operation, the machine includes a built-in dust extraction port with expander adaptor, two safety interlock switches and an integrated NVR switch; dust extraction must be connected for the machine to run.
