Lambda sensors have long ago become an important technology for reducing pollutant emissions generated by internal combustion engines. For several years, motorcycles have also been equipped with catalytic converters and lambda sensors. Lambda sensors measure the oxygen content in the exhaust gas and report this value to the ECU. This then regulates the fuel-air mixture so that the catalyst can optimally convert the pollutants. Lambda sensors are wear parts that gradually lose their functionality over time.
