NTK Lambda Sensor | OZA863-EE8

NGK SPARK PLUG is a leading manufacturer of lambda sensors for original equipment and aftermarket. For decades, automotive and motorcycle manufacturers, dealers and workshops have relied on the know-how of the sensor specialist. Lambda sensors are one of the most important technologies for reducing pollutant emissions. The lambda sensor determines the residual oxygen content in the exhaust gas and provides the engine control unit (ECU) of the vehicle with precise information about the current mixing ratio of air and fuel, the so-called lambda value (λ). Based on this information, the control unit can permanently regulate the fuel-air ratio optimally. The lambda sensor not only contributes to the effective reduction of pollutant emissions, but also optimises fuel consumption and ensures a long service life of the catalytic converter. As the lambda sensor is subject to certain ageing, it should be checked at regular intervals for its proper functioning and replaced if necessary. Possible malfunctions are noticeable due to higher fuel consumption, lower engine performance and increased exhaust emissions. If a vehicle fails the exhaust gas test (AU), replacing the lambda sensor could reduce the exhaust emissions values to the prescribed values.
