Description

Mozambique is located in southern Africa on the Indian Ocean and is after years of civil war one of the poorest countries in the world. The predominant vegetation is dry savanna with some Miombo dry forests. There are six national parks in Mozambique. The country has no real endemics, but there are many species with a small range. Therefore Mozambique shares four Endemic Bird Areas (EBA) according to BirdLife International with its neighboring countries. For the birdwatcher with a high degree of self-sufficiency, there are many attractive ways to discover otherwise difficult-to-find bird species.
