A terceira edição, atualizada e ampliada do livro “Inteligência Artificial nas Ciências da Saúde” é uma clara evidência que a área de investigação chamada “Inteligência Artificial (IA)” vive um dos momentos mais profícuos da história da ciência, com suas inovações metodológicas e aumento da confiabilidade com crescimento exponencial nos últimos anos. Para esta terceira edição, os autores, doutores membros do Núcleo de Pesquisas em Biomecânica Ocupacional e Qualidade de Vida (NPBOQV/CNPq) e membros da International Society of Human Movement Sciences (ISHMS) foi revisada, atualizada e ampliada; nela foram acrescentados mais cinco capítulos que sintetizam as conquistas científicas desse núcleo de pesquisas, um dos pioneiros da IA aplicada à saúde no Brasil. A proposta do livro se manteve, ou seja, não se trata de um livro para engenheiros de programação e profissionais com expertises pontuais sobre detalhes técnicos relativos às filigranas das pesquisas em IA. Trata-se de um livro sobre IA para pesquisadores da grande área da saúde (medicina e todas as suas especialidades, da clínica geral e da ortopedia, até a psiquiatria; da fisioterapia e da reabilitação; da enfermagem, educação física, fonoaudiologia, nutrição e biomedicina; da psicologia e todas as suas linhas; da biomecânica e todos seus diferentes métodos; das ciências do movimento humano, dentre outras). Os autores conseguiram escrever um livro que não se furta de detalhamentos de como fazer, mas presenteiam os leitores com entremeios epistemológicos e filosóficos sobre o tema, isto torna o livro leve e de fácil compreensão para pesquisadores que estão iniciando com os métodos da IA. Em 2023 a chamada Inteligência Artificial Generativa (IAG) possibilitou a popularização da IA para o grande público com suas infinitas possibilidades de criação, por isso, um capítulo dedicado a IAG na área da saúde e das ciências do movimento humano, com centenas de exemplos de ferramentas de IAG, extensões, aplicativos e exemplos de prompts. Por ser radicalmente interdisciplinar e transfenomenal, a IA exige, para acontecer na prática, sinergias entre as diferentes áreas do conhecimento humano. Neste contexto, profissionais de perfil generalista ocupam posições de destaque na criação, desenvolvimento e validação de soluções em IA.
