SOLE: Kayland's mountaineering DNA is also found in Duke Mid GTX: the sole block sees a considerable increase in the EVA midsole and is specifically designed to restore maximum comfort to the foot and to absorb every roughness of the terrain. The foot rests directly on the dual-density EVA midsole which features a soft contact area and a high-density ESS area right above the tread, designed to absorb every shock in an optimal manner and visible through the windows of the Vibram® Duke sole. The tread is equipped with traction lug technology, a specific lug pattern for mixed terrain, stones, gravel and grass which allows you to obtain greater grip with the ground. On the toe cap there is a climbing zone, ideal for the most demanding sections or on equipped paths, while the rubber toe cap and the whisker-shaped extension of the sole protect the foot and help absorb shocks. UPPER AND LINING: The upper of the Duke Mid GTX is made of fabric with seamless PU inserts and integrates the Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane, with direct lamination. Its particular construction allows for strong weight reduction. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and implements a rear spoiler, which accompanies the movement of the ankle. Impact protection is ensured thanks to Kayland's Overlasting construction which combines a polyurethane band that entirely protects the toe and an extension of the sole to the tip of the boot to provide further impact protection.
