The NX series Backpackers Kit includes the NX series filter holder, three graduated neutral density filters GND4, GND8 and GND16 in soft transition, all three supplied in their aluminium frame. The kit also includes 3 adapter rings in 72mm, 77mm and 82mm diameters and a case so you can start shooting straight away. "Soft" neutral density filters are traditionally used in filter holder systems to reduce an excessive difference in brightness in the photographed scene, regardless of the geometric shapes of the landscape. Because their length is greater than their width, it is possible to place their transition zone at the desired location in the image by simply moving the filter vertically in the slides of the filter holder.The NX series Backpackers Kit covers all ambient light conditions with light to extreme light differences. In fact, the 3 graduated filters GND4, GND8 and GND16, which absorb 2, 3 and 4 stops respectively in the densest part of the glass, can be used individually or combined. By combining 2 filters, it is then possible to achieve very high density values:. GND4 & GND8 = GND32 (5 stops max.). . GND4 & GND16 = GND64 (6 stops max.). GND8 & GND16 = GND128 (7 stops max.) .Finally, it is possible to compensate up to 6 brightness differences: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 levels.If you do not have Nuances Extreme filters yet, you can complete the Backpackers NX-Series kit later by adding a special polarising filter and other square and/or rectangular Nuances Extreme filters. We remind you that in terms of Cokin filter assortments, only Nuances Extrême filters in size L with the filter frames art. no. FR100NXS and art. no. FR143NXS specifically for the NX-Series filter holder. The Cokin Creative CR39 resin filters in size L are not compatible with the NX series system due to the higher dimensional tolerance of these filters compared to the much stricter filter frames.
