Product Description Don Q Gran Reserva Añejo XO is a premium Puerto Rican aged rum from Destilería Serrallés in Ponce. It unites rums matured nine to twelve years with a portion of solera stocks reaching up to fifty years. The result is a poised, dry-leaning profile with depth and polish—equally at home for quiet sipping or classic, spirit-forward cocktails. Aromas are subtle yet enticing: gentle vanilla and buttery oak, with burnt caramel, old wood and hints of roasted coffee. The palate is silk-smooth, carrying mellow sweetness balanced by warming spice. Flavours unfurl gradually—caramel and vanilla at first, then leather and coffee—before a measured, long finish. Crafted from fermented molasses and distilled in multi-column stills, the spirit rests in American oak in Puerto Rico’s tropical climate before careful blending by the Serrallés team. The combination of defined age statements and older solera components gives Gran Reserva XO its equilibrium between mature oak character and clean, precise tones. Enjoy it neat to appreciate the layering, or pour 50–60ml over ice in a rocks glass and allow a minute to open. For a timeless cocktail, make a Rum Manhattan: 60ml Gran Reserva XO, 30ml sweet vermouth, two dashes Angostura® bitters and a splash of soda; stir with ice, strain, garnish with a maraschino cherry. Prefer an Old Fashioned? Muddle a sugar cube with three dashes bitters, add ice and 60ml rum, stir well, garnish with orange peel and a cherry.
