Increased the book size to 8 1/2 by 11 making it easier to read. This book complements Les Grau's previous book, "The Bear Went Over the Mountain." the other side of the mountain is a compilation of Mujahideen combat actions against Soviet forces during the Soviet-Afghan War. The 92 vignettes with maps include operational graphics in full color are arranged chronologically and assembled topically, based on type of action, into 14 chapters. The cost of the other side of the mountain is due to the fact that it simply costs more to print a 430 page book in color. We feel color maps are necessary to truly understand what the Mujahideen did and why they were successful. Coming soon: Look for the other side of the mountain Audiobook. You can listen to the audiobook while you examine the color maps. We include a Table of Contents on the back cover for quick reference.
