The Distillery, founded in 1812, stands proudly on the Cawdor Estate – a historic residence linked with Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Quite literally fit for a king, Royal Brackla is made in the first distillery that was ever granted a Royal Warrant, by King William IV in 1833. The Royal Brackla distillery was founded by the fiery Captain William Fraser, more than 200 years ago. As one of the oldest distilleries in the world, it enjoys a resplendent setting, close by the banks of the river Nairn. It stands in a serene rural spot, on the coastal plain that lies between the seawater of the Moray Firth and the rising slopes of the Grampian Mountains.
