With a similar optical design to the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, but significantly smaller and lighter at only 56% of its weight, the lens is ideal for photographers and videographers who need a high performance, all-in-one standard zoom that isn’t going to weigh them down. At the point of release the 28-70mm was smallest and lightest standard zoom with a constant F2.8 aperture on the market for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens is highly versatile and is perfect for a wide range of photographic applications including landscapes, portraits, weddings, street, close-ups and architecture. It’s also ideal for video and light enough to be used on a small electronic gimbal. The optical design includes two FLD, two SLD and three aspherical elements for staggering sharpness across the frame with very little in the way of unwanted aberrations. True to the core concept of the Contemporary line, the 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN delivers the perfect balance of performance and portability.
