With a similar optical design to the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, but significantly smaller and lighter at only 56% of its weight, the lens is ideal for photographers and videographers who need a high performance, all-in-one standard zoom that isn’t going to weigh them down. At the point of release the 28-70mm was smallest and lightest standard zoom with a constant F2.8 aperture on the market for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens is highly versatile and is perfect for a wide range of photographic applications including landscapes, portraits, weddings, street, close-ups and architecture. It’s also ideal for video and light enough to be used on a small electronic gimbal. The optical design includes two FLD, two SLD and three aspherical elements for staggering sharpness across the frame with very little in the way of unwanted aberrations.
