Effective Change Management Practices in HMI Development

The purpose of this document, as an Abnormal Situation Management (ASM) Consortium guideline document, is to communicate the ASM Consortium recommendations for effective change management in human-machine interface (HMI) development projects in the process control industry. These guidelines can be used to assess the quality of a company’s change management practices from the perspective of their potential impact on HMI design effectiveness and end-user acceptance of HMI design changes. The ASM Consortium encourages industry practitioners to use this document throughout their organizations in the development of HMI design for console operations.
