Description

Darkness is an eight year old single malt whisky, intensely sherried for maximum richness and depth. An outstanding Speyside malt is aged in ex-Bourbon casks before being placed in custom made oak octaves casks that were hand-coppered in Spain for an additional six months of maturation. These tiny vessels host an intimate conversation between bold whisky, rich sherry and wood which transforms the whisky as flavours intensify. A three month resting period is quietly undertaken to produce a bold and flavourful single malt scotch that has an all-natural deep amber colour. The nose is toasty, with hints of candied orange peel, warm spices and some dried cherry. Flavours of toffee sweetness, Amaretti biscuits and a touch of earthy oak linger on the palate. A finish of light smoke, chocolatey hints and a toasty sweet last for an exquisite serve. With its hefty cask-influence that provides vibrant aromas and flavours, marks of its unsubdued character, Darkness is a remarkably intricate experience.

8 YEAR AGED: The single malt scotch whisky is matured for eight years in ex-Bourbon casks to develop a rich and intense flavour.

CASK FINISHED: Darkness 8 Year Old Whisky is finished for no less than six additional months in custom made, hand-coppered sherry casks that impart an intensely sherried flavour.

TASTING NOTES: Expect a fruity and appetising nose, with candied almonds coming through on the palate. A light smoke and sweetness lingers.

REMARKABLY INTRICATE: Darkness Whisky is handcrafted in small batches. It’s non-chill filtered and the rich, amber colour is 100 Percent natural - with no added caramel colouring
