Description

DiMarzio introduced the world's first replacement pickups for the Fender Jazz® bass at the 1977 NAMM show. DiMarzio invented the double-bridge ceramic magnet structure for extra power and added twin hum coils for less noise. The DiMarzio Model J™ is 50 percent quieter than the original Fender Jazz® bass single coil pickups and 60 percent louder. We've also added adjustable pole shoes to improve string balance and designed them in our signature cream colour. Upon its launch, the DiMarzio Model J™ immediately became an industry standard and was the pickup of choice in thousands of hit recordings. With the introduction of the Relentless™ P bass® pickups, developed together with Billy Sheehan, we began to consider how we could make our Jazz Bass® pickups even better.
