As enduring as the story it portrays, the Willow Tree Nativity is as loved today as when it was originally introduced in 2000. Its simplicity and form has made it a timeless classic. As a Christmas gift, wedding gift or self-purchase, the Willow Tree Nativity continues on as a family tradition. Since 1999, American artist Susan Lordi has worked in partnership with DEMDACO to produce, market and distribute Willow Tree, her line of carved figurative sculpture. From her studio in Kansas City, Lordi hand carves the original of each figure, and designs accompanying accessories. The pieces in this collection are cast and constructed from Lordi's original carvings and prototypes, and painted by hand.

Includes: Sculpted Nativity figures of Mary holding baby Jesus, protector Joseph, donkey, two sheep and shepherd; Creche; The Three Wisemen with Camel; Shepherd and Stable Animals; Zampognaro (Shepherd with bagpipe) PLUS Peace on Earth Shepherdess; Little Shepherdess with two sheep; Ox and Goat; Angel of Prayer; a tree, a prayer Angel; Angel Stand

Tallest figure (Joseph) measures 9" high. Figures, animals and accessory pieces are in corresponding scale. Starter figures fit upon Creche, measuring 17"h x 20"w x 11.5"d.

Nativity can be displayed on wide mantle or tabletop with greenery. Suggested additional Willow Tree display accessories (not included in this set) are Metal Star Backdrop #26105, and/or Cypress Trees #27598.

Figures are cast in resin from Susan Lordi's original carvings, and hand-painted. Creche is made of wood and hand-painted; packaged flat, with easy three-piece assembly.

The Willow Tree Nativity collection is a favorite holiday tradition...the simplicity and elegant form of the figures and animals have made it a timeless classic.
