Product Description

Natures Root Organic Cress Sprouting Seeds Organic, fast and easy growing variety favourite by many chefs for its superb, peppery flavour perfect in soups, salads and garnishes. Adds great touch to juices, smoothies, salad mixes etc. Loaded with a generous amount of health benefiting nutrients, it's a perfect variety to a microgreen collection. If eating healthy is important to you, you should take care to include sprouts in your diet. Sprouts are an everyday staple of the raw food diet and widely used in a variety of dishes from around the world. This is because they contain a large range of potential health benefits—including high levels of essential antioxidants. Sprouting seeds are therefore an important part of agricultural production on both small and large scales. You'll be able to find all our sprouts in our Amazon store. Preparation: There's no need to soak the seed before sowing; just carefully tear open the packets and you're ready. Simple Cultivation: Place some damp tissue paper on a saucer on the windowsill. Just sprinkle the cress seeds evenly over a double thickness of kitchen paper, damp but not wet, laid on a plate or a shallow plastic dish. Make sure the paper doesn't dry out. Harvesting: Just snip the greens off just above the paper once they reach 4cm tall. Storage: Cress can't really be stored, so sow a batch every few days and cut as you need them

Key Features

FULL OF FLAVOUR: Cress was the original microgreen. It is popular in salads, sandwiches and garnishes for its spicy flavour and finely curled, nutritious leaves. Also known as "curly cress" or "peppergrass", it has a flavour similar to watercress

NUTRIENT DENSE: Our Organic Cress sprouting seeds are packed with goodness. Cress is an important source of iron, folic acid, calcium, vitamins C, E and A. The seed contains arachidic and linoleic fatty acids.

EASY SPROUTING: A 4-5 day sprout. 1 tbsp of dry seed yields approx 2-3 cups of sprouts. For Microgreens, 1 tbsp of dry seed yields approx 8-12 cups microgreens

CREATE YOUR OWN SPROUTING MIX: Cress can be added in small amounts to regular sprouting seeds (Alfalfa, Lentils, Broccoli, Pea, Radish) in a jar or sprouter. Mix the cress in after soaking the other seeds. Do not soak the cress. Do not add too much, as cress tends to be mucilaginous

HIGHEST QUALITY: Natures Root are known for their quality of seeds and high germination rate. Our seeds should sprout well for a year after you purchase them, if stored in a cool dry place. If you’d like to extend the germination life of your seeds, store them in the fridge. If you store your seeds in the freezer, they’ll last almost indefinitely.
