Product Description UV filters ensure that the ultraviolet component in the sunlight is blocked and helps to prevent inadvertent colour distortions. The UV light, which is invisible to the human eye, can also have a slightly disturbing effect on the sharpness of the image which can be frustrating when you want to capture as much detail as possible in your photographs. A UV filter also has practical advantages. Due to its otherwise image-neutral characteristics it can remain on the lens for a long time and protects expensive lenses against damage. The Rollei Premium Round UV Filter is supplied in nine different lens diameters: 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77 and 82mm. This high-quality round filter protects the front disc from mechanical stress, scratches, dirt and sand. The Gorilla glass from specialist New York manufacturer, Corning Inc., is well known for high-quality electronics and photographic glass products. Ions are exchanged on the molecular level by an extremely hot bath in a specially mixed liquid and lend the glass extreme resistance.
