Description The Lonsdale brand was founded in 1960 by the 22-year-old British boxer Bernhard Hart in London. The name of his brand was Hugh Lowther, 5th Earl of Lonsdale (1857-1944), who made a name in modern boxing in the 1890s. Hugh Lowther was a founding member of the National Sporting Club, which under strict rules of public boxing fighting and thus significantly contributed to the social recognition of boxing. In 1960, Bernhard Hart opened the first Lonsdale shop on Beak Street, in the middle of Soho London. Since then, well-known professional boxers such as Muhammad Ali, Henry Cooper, Sugar Ray Robinson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Ricky Hatton have worn the Lonsdale brand. Today, these famous personalities and the most important milestones from the brand's history play a major role and immerse again and again in the modern designs of the now extensive product line.
