LOCTITE 222 thread lock - Low-strength liquid adhesive for small metal threads LOCTITE's thread lock is low-strength and is useful for securing screws with long threads or small diameters, as well as for adjusting screws and countersunk screws. It can be used for all threaded connections made of active metals as well as passive metals. The thread lock prevents the threaded connection from loosening on its own or due to vibration. For easily disassembled connections, it is low strength and can be disassembled with hand tools. Thanks to its thixotropic properties, the adhesive does not move during application. In addition, the adhesive will tollerate minor surface contamination from industrial oils such as motor oils. To use, clean all surfaces with a cleaner and allow to dry. If necessary, apply an activator and allow to dry. To avoid clogging the nozzle with cured product, do not allow the tip to contact metal surfaces during application. For through holes, apply several drops to the bolt at the point on which the nut will seat. For blind holes, apply several drops internally along the thread to the bottom of the hole. For sealing applications, apply adhesive 360° around to the end of the male thread, leaving the first thread free. Spread the adhesive down to the bottom of the thread. For larger threads, adjust the quantity accordingly and also apply adhesive 360° inside the female thread. Assemble and tighten parts as usual.
