This NRS Healthcare L71158 Nuvo Slatted Bath Board - 72 cm (28.5”) Width enables you to sit to transfer easily into and out of the bath, if it is not safe or easy for you to step in. It's ideal if you can't bend to sit right at the bottom of the bath or find it difficult to step into the bath. It can help if you have stiff joints, mobility problems, health conditions or are unsteady on your feet. It makes bathing more comfortable and helps you retain independence. Good sitting balance is required to use a bathboard - a grab rail (available separately) can also assist with this. The Nuvo slatted bath board is simply placed in position across the width of your bath, resting on each rim and the brackets are then fixed. Please choose the correct size board for your bath- there should be a minimum of 37 mm (1.5") of level rim on each side, on which to support the board. You can sit on the board to wash yourself in the bath water below or to use an over-the-bath shower. The board can also be used as a halfway point so you can firstly sit on the board, then transfer yourself down onto the bottom of the bath or onto the NRS Nuvo bath seat (sold separately). The NRS Nuv Slatted Bath Board uses the traditional slatted bath board design and has been designed to offer the user excellent comfort and stability, in an easy to use and extremely durable bath board. It has a number of high quality features including: • Flexible, wide ribbed, overmoulded pads to give superior grip to the bath and greater durability • Swivel brackets which enable the board to be used with a variety of bath shapes. • Unique locking mechanism ensures the brackets are securely fixed - at any angle. • Narrow slats allow easy drainage and use as a shower board with an overbath shower. • Smooth surface for comfort/easy transfer. • No entrapment risk. • Latex free. • Stainless steel fittings will not corrode. The board is white coloured with blue ends, which can help someone with visual impairments to distinguish it against a white bath. Product weight: 1.9kg (4.3lb) How to use the Nuvo bath board 1. Start with your feet flat on the floor and your back to the bath; 2. Step backwards until you can feel the edge of the bath against the back of your legs 3. Sit on the board and move your bottom back towards the middle of the bath board 4. Lift your legs one at a time over the bath edge, into the bath. 5. Move your bottom across the board until you are seated in a central position. You may need to use your arms to ‘lift’ your bottom and move sideways in small stages. 6. You are now ready to shower, wash or transfer on to a bath seat to be nearer to the bottom of the bath.
