Description

The Sennheiser e 906 is a dynamic supercardioid instrument microphone with a flat, side-address body design optimised for guitar amplifier cabinet micing. Its compact profile enables precise close placement against the speaker grille, capturing the full character of the amplifier source with natural proximity effect in live and studio environments. The three-position switchable presence filter is a defining feature, providing engineers with three distinct tonal voicings to choose from: flat reference, moderate presence lift, or enhanced air and definition. This on-board tonal control reduces the need for corrective EQ at the mixing desk, streamlining workflow in both live and studio contexts. The supercardioid polar pattern delivers high rejection of off-axis stage noise, maintaining clean instrument signals in complex live environments with multiple sound sources. High SPL handling ensures consistent, distortion-free performance at any amplifier volume level. Supplied with the MZQ 100 clip, pouch, and documentation.

Key Features

SIDE-ADDRESS DESIGN FOR GUITAR CABINET MICING: The flat, side-address body enables the e 906 to be positioned close against a guitar cabinet grille, providing natural, proximity-rich capture without stand congestion on busy stages.

THREE-POSITION PRESENCE FILTER: Built-in switchable filter provides three distinct presence voicings — allowing engineers to select the tonal character that best suits the source, from flat reference to enhanced presence and air.

SUPERCARDIOID REJECTION IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS: The supercardioid polar pattern delivers focused on-axis capture and high rejection of off-axis stage noise, maintaining clean instrument signals on loud, complex live stages.

VERSATILE INSTRUMENT MICING CAPABILITY: Equally effective on brass, percussion, and acoustic instrument sources, the e 906 provides flexible professional micing capability beyond guitar amplifier applications.

HIGH SPL HANDLING FOR LOUD SOURCES: Designed for the demanding sound pressure levels generated by close-mic positions on guitar amplifiers and brass instruments, maintaining accurate, undistorted signal capture at any dynamic level.
