About the Author Dr. Hung Nguyen Xuan (H. Nguyen-Xuan) is Director of Center for Interdisciplinary Research (CIRTech), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Hutech), Vietnam. He received his Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from The University of Liège (Belgium) in 2008. He has collaborated with leading research institutions and universities around the world such as National University of Singapore (NUS), Bauhaus-University Weimar (Germany), University of Cincinnati (USA), Cardiff University (UK) and Ghent University (Belgium). He is currently an adjunct professor at The University of Southern Queensland (Australia), a visiting professor at Sejong University (South Korea) and China Medical University (Taiwan). He is President of Vietnam Association of Computational mechanics. His researches focus on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) for advanced development of robust computational methods with high performance computing. He (co-)published more than 140 peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Nguyen-Xuan received the prestigious award, Georg Forster Research Award, and the others. Dr. Phuc received his Ph.D. at the Ghent University, Belgium in February 2016. After that, he continued to receive a BOF postdoctoral fellowship at Ghent University until 2019. His researches are focused on Computational Solid Mechanics. He is particularly interested in developing multiscale isogeometric analysis and their application to computational materials design. His research topics include smart materials, composites, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), shape memory alloys, functionally graded materials, piezoelectric, numerical methods (Finite Element Method, Isogeometric Analysis, Smoothed Finite Element Method, etc).Dr. Rabczuk received his Ph.D at the University of Karlsruhe in January 2002. He spent more than 3.5 years as postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University, USA and around 1 year as postdoctoral fellow at the Technical University of Munich before joining the University of Canterbury, Christchur
