Deze grondmotorische eigenschappen worden gezien als min of meer los van elkaar functionerende grootheden. In Krachttraining en coordinatie, een integratieve benadering betoogt auteur Frans Bosch dat dit onderscheid discutabel is. Hij laat zien dat de vijf eigenschappen eigenlijk nauwelijks recht van bestaan hebben als afzonderlijke grootheden. Een uiterst origineel en wetenschappelijk onderbouwd uitgangspunt, dat nooit eerder in een leerboek aan de orde is gekomen. In deze uitgave wordt krachttraining niet langer vanuit de mechanische verschijningsvorm benaderd. De auteur schetst daarentegen een model dat zich baseert op wat er bekend is over de onderliggende processen op met name neurofysiologisch gebied. Zo worden processen van transfer tussen krachtsoefening en doelbeweging in kaart gebracht. En wordt een verband gelegd tussen motorisch leren en krachttraining. (Sportspecifieke) krachttraining is in dit boek coordinatietraining onder verhoogde weerstand. De eerste druk van dit boek verscheen in 2012. Van deze geheel herziene tweede druk is bij 2010 Uitgevers ook een Engelse vertaling verschenen, getiteld Strength Training and Coordination: An Integrative Approach. Krachttraining en coordinatie, een integratieve benadering is niet alleen interessant voor studenten hbo sport & beweging en fysiotherapie, maar ook voor (sport)fysiotherapeuten, docenten bewegingsonderwijs en trainers die meer willen dan versterking van het spier-skeletstelsel. Functionele krachttraining, daar draait dit boek om! Frans Bosch is als docent anatomie en motorisch leren verbonden aan de Fontys Sporthogeschool. Daarnaast werkt hij als consultant en trainer voor de nationale rugbyteams van Wales en Japan en voor West Ham United Football Club (Engeland).
