Конкретная проблема, рассматриваемая в исследовании, заключается в кажущейся неэффективности экономик стран ЮВА после согласованных усилий по развитию финансовой структуры этих стран с расчетом на ускорение роста. Результаты, среди прочего, показывают, что финансовая структура в BCPS, MC, LLR, TR и VTS не имеет значительной связи с ВВП в выбранных развивающихся африканских экономиках. Однако в результате панельного анализа было обнаружено отсутствие значительной связи между финансовой структурой и экономическим ростом как по обобщенному методу наименьших квадратов, так и по методу причинности Грангера. Таким образом, в исследовании делается вывод о том, что финансовая структура не имеет существенной связи с экономическим ростом в развивающихся африканских странах.
