El trabajo investiga la influencia de ciertos conceptos (o sesgos) identificados en las finanzas conductuales, a saber, el exceso de confianza, la representatividad, el herding, el anclaje, la disonancia cognitiva, la aversión al arrepentimiento, la falacia del jugador, la contabilidad mental y el sesgo retrospectivo, en el proceso de toma de decisiones de los inversores individuales en el mercado de valores indio. Los datos primarios para el análisis se recopilaron distribuyendo un cuestionario estructurado entre inversores clasificados como (i) jóvenes y (ii) experimentados. Los resultados obtenidos mediante el análisis de una muestra de 92 encuestados, de los cuales 53 admitieron haber sufrido una pérdida de al menos el 30% a causa de la crisis, revelaron que el grado de exposición a los sesgos separaba el patrón de comportamiento de los inversores jóvenes de los experimentados. Se observó que los sesgos de la falacia del jugador, el anclaje y la retrospectiva afectaban significativamente más a los inversores jóvenes que a los experimentados.
