Este libro comprende un estudio doctoral centrado en las ideas de los profesores de primaria sobre la ideología de la educación inclusiva y cómo éstas se reflejan en sus hábitos de trabajo profesional y en sus nociones de educación. El propósito del estudio era explorar la interacción entre la política educativa nacional y las percepciones de los profesores sobre su papel en la escuela inclusiva. El estudio se enmarca en un paradigma interpretativo, informado por las perspectivas teóricas del construccionismo social y el postestructuralismo. Los datos se recogieron mediante entrevistas cualitativas, registros de enseñanza y análisis de documentos y artículos de prensa. Las conclusiones se presentan en un capítulo de libro y dos artículos de revista de investigación, cada uno de los cuales representa un tema concreto en relación con las preguntas de la investigación. El estudio aporta una contribución teórica y práctica al debate permanente sobre la educación inclusiva, su naturaleza y su alcance, en beneficio de profesores, padres, investigadores y responsables políticos.
