Das Forschungsgebiet dieser Dissertation sind die Auswirkungen der digitalen Transformation auf die Unternehmenssteuerung und die damit verbundenen Geschäftsprozesse der Unternehmensplanung, des Forecastings und der daraus resultierenden Entscheidungsprozesse. In dieser Arbeit konnte nachgewiesen werden, dass die aus der digitalen Transformation resultierenden Möglichkeiten der Data Science nicht nur den Informationsstand des Controllings und Managements deutlich verbessern, sondern auch zu einem veränderten Entscheidungsverhalten führen. Der in dieser Untersuchung verwendete Business Case ist das Entscheidungsverhalten eines Unternehmens der Marina-Branche in Kroatien. Die mit der digitalen Transformation verbundenen Möglichkeiten der Datenwissenschaft könnten genutzt werden, um aussagekräftige Prognosemodelle als Grundlage für die Entscheidungsfindung zu entwickeln. In dieser Forschung werden 38.000 Datensätze eines Yachthafenunternehmens verwendet, die es ermöglichten, Vorhersagemodelle mit optimaler Vorhersagekraft und Vorhersagesicherheit zu entwickeln. Die Dissertation wurde am Montag, den 18. Oktober 2021 an der Universität Rijeka, Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Business, verteidigt.
