"ADHD - Solving the Mystery of Neuropsychological Deficits" ist eine Forschungsarbeit, die darauf abzielt, die neuropsychologischen Defizite von Kindern mit ADHD-Inattentive Type (ADHD-IA) zu identifizieren und auch ihre Aufmerksamkeitsdefizite und feinmotorische Inkoordination zu beheben. In diesem Buch werden die Probleme von Kindern mit ADHS-IA hervorgehoben, wie z. B. ihre Komorbidität, funktionelle Beeinträchtigungen, versteckte neuropsychologische Defizite usw. Außerdem werden Theorien und Grundsätze der neuropsychologischen Rehabilitation beleuchtet. Das Buch befasst sich auch mit der Behebung des Kernproblems von ADHS-IA, nämlich der geringen Aufmerksamkeitsspanne. Das von Parente und Anderson-Parente (1991) vorgeschlagene Sieben-Stufen-Modell wird in dem Buch diskutiert. Das Buch beleuchtet auch die funktionellen Beeinträchtigungen, mit denen Kinder mit ADHS-IA konfrontiert sind, und die Auswirkungen von Interventionsverfahren auf diese Beeinträchtigungen. Die Wirksamkeit, Durchführbarkeit, Dauerhaftigkeit und Verallgemeinerbarkeit von Aufmerksamkeits- und Feinmotorik-Training werden ebenfalls in dem Buch erörtert.
