L'augmentation rapide de la population humaine a accru les besoins en protéines alimentaires. Un approvisionnement adéquat en poissons est d'une importance capitale en tant que source d'aliments protéinés bon marché. Cependant, en raison d'une exploitation excessive, de nombreuses ressources aquatiques naturelles sont actuellement sur le point de s'épuiser. L'aquaculture semble donc être le seul moyen d'augmenter la production de poissons. Par conséquent, la présente étude a été entreprise avec les objectifs suivants : étudier le rôle du tonique hépatique végétal 'Livol' sur la croissance et la survie des alevins de M. cephalus ; vérifier l'effet du tonique hépatique végétal 'Livol' sur la digestibilité et la composition biochimique des alevins de M. cephalus ; analyser la composition proximale des régimes au début et à la fin des expériences.
