Description

Cabbage is one of the most popular winter vegetable grown in India. It is cultivated in 0.245 Mha with the total production of 5.617 Mmt and average productivity of 22.9mt/ha. Though, antibiotics of streptomycin group are routinely recommended for the management of this disease. Alternaria blight caused by Alternaria brassicae is one of the most severe yield the destablishing factor causing yield reduction of cabbage. The screening of selected botanicals was done far their antimicrobial activities against test pathogen and to essay secondary metabolites and active compound from the selected botanicals. Elimination of an established soil pathogen by chemical is castly sometimes hazardous in addition due to the development of new physiological races of pathogen, many systemic fungicide are gradually become infective.
