El biodiésel es el mejor sustituto del gasóleo para las zonas agrícolas rurales con un coste menor. Pero la combustión inadecuada del biodiésel dentro del cilindro del motor debido a una caracterización inexacta de la pulverización es la causa del bajo nivel de rendimiento del motor. Es esencial cambiar la caracterización de la pulverización cuando utilizamos biodiésel en lugar de combustible diésel convencional. Modificar la caracterización de la pulverización no es una tarea fácil y adecuada, se requiere una investigación de alto nivel para la misma, pero simplemente cambiando el diámetro del agujero del inyector podemos obtener los valores óptimos de las características de rendimiento. Mediante el uso de revestimiento cerámico en el pistón se reduce la pérdida de calor del cilindro y debido a esa reducción en la pérdida de calor se puede obtener una combustión adecuada de bio diesel incluso después de aumentar el diámetro del agujero del inyector.En este trabajo se ha cambiado el diámetro del agujero del inyector con un recubrimiento cerámico estable (0,3 mm) y se han encontrado experimentalmente los valores óptimos de las características de rendimiento del motor utilizando mezclas de aceite de karinja como combustible.
