Die folgende Arbeit beschreibt die Lebensgeschichte von Patienten, die mit dem humanen Immundefizienz-Virus infiziert sind, und analysiert die Faktoren, die die Adhärenz zur pharmakologischen Behandlung beeinflussen. Zur Datenerhebung wird eine Tiefenuntersuchung durch halbstrukturierte Interviews und die Anwendung des SMAQ-Fragebogens durchgeführt, die an 4 HIV-Träger zwischen 28 und 47 Jahren gerichtet ist, die eine freiwillige Teilnehmerstichprobe darstellen. Die wichtigsten Faktoren, die mit der Adhärenz zur pharmakologischen Behandlung zusammenhängen, sind demnach: Lebensmotivation, Überzeugungen, Einstellungen und Gefühle zur Medikation, Qualität der Versorgung, Unterstützungsnetzwerke, umfassende Versorgung, Überzeugungen und Gefühle zur Krankheit, Beziehung zum Gesundheitsteam, Bewusstsein für die Krankheit, Überwachung der Medikamenteneinnahme und Lebensstil.
