L’étude entreprise dans le cadre de ce livre s’inscrit dans un des domaines fondamentaux de la sociolinguistique : l’étude des situations de contacts entre langues, générées par les migrations. Nous avons essayé de porter un regard sur les attitudes et d’analyser les pratiques langagières des jeunes descendants de migrants algériens quand ils sont dans le pays d’origine de leurs parents, au sein de leurs réseaux familiaux et amicaux. Afin d’approcher les représentations des descendants de migrants sur les langues et comprendre l’impact des mobilités entre pays d’origine et pays d’accueil sur leurs pratiques langagières, ainsi que leurs attitudes vis-à-vis des langues et de leurs normes d’usage, nous avons opté pour une démarche qualitative basée sur douze entretiens semi directif et cinq interactions enregistrées.
