El presente trabajo tiene como propósito contribuir al conocimiento de la biología pesquera de Menippe frontalis, a través del análisis de la información de los muestreos realizados en la Parroquia de Posorja - cantón Guayaquil - provincia del Guayas, durante noviembre de 2014 hasta mayo de 2015, se usó la metodología de estudio biológico por puntos de ubicación y disección de los organismos, la cual se identificaron sitios específicos, caracterizados por la concurrencia habitual de pesca. Se recolectaron 840 especímenes de las que se obtuvieron los diferentes datos morfométricos. El porcentaje en relación al sexo fue 30,5% para machos y el a 69,5% hembras con una relación macho/hembra de 2:3. Peso-talla estimado para este estudio representó un promedio de 346,03±52,7635 g, (p ˂ 0,05) y el coeficiente de correlación de r=0,612 y en la talla media de madurez sexual (L50% =9,21cm de ancho total de cefalotórax). En el índice IGS obtenido en este estudio fue de 3,3146±1,1957 el valor más alto y 2,8232±1,4225 el valor más bajo en las hembras, mientras que para los machos se registró valores altos de 1,4876±0,6335 y valores bajos de 0,8772± 0,1008.
