The book was written by Israel's leading specialist in the field of protecting civilian electrical equipment against the effects of an electromagnetic pulse from a high-altitude nuclear explosion (HEMP). In the book a paradoxical situation is described, including expensive fakes, bureaucratic tricks, and simply misconceptions in the field of protecting critical civilian infrastructure from nuclear high-altitude EMP. The book contains criticism of existing trends in the development of the modern electric power industry without taking into account the problem of EMP, as well as negative trends in the problem of protecting critical civilian infrastructure from EMP and explains the author’s opinion regarding some essential EMP issues, since it differs from the currently accepted view. The book presents a new concept (strategy) for the protection of civilian infrastructure, proposed by the author.
